Economic counsellor to the Embassy of Hungary in Sarajevo visited Sarajevo International Airport

On Wednesday, August 10, 2016, the director of Sarajevo International Airport, Mr Armin Kajmaković, received Mr Péter Hetei, counsellor for economic affairs in the Embassy of Hungary in Sarajevo.
Topic of the meeting was the initiative to establish a direct air service Sarajevo – Budapest, launched by Hungarian Government which invited the international bidders, i.e. all airlines being interested for starting this air service.
Further, on the meeting was discussed a possibility of finalizing the negotiations with Wizzair, the Hungarian low-cost Carrier, with which, in 2016, Sarajevo International Airport re-started negotiations on cooperation. According to Mr Kajmaković, this cooperation should be realized in case that both sides adhere to the principles of non-discrimination, transparency and cost-efficiency.
Director Kajmaković emphasized that Sarajevo International Airport is open for cooperation with any airline, including Wizzair, in case of a mutual business interest, and then informed Mr Hetei about operative capacity of the Airport and its development projects that have recently been started due to increased interest of Carriers for starting air services from Sarajevo airport, and also because of increased number of passengers.
In his words of appreciation over the visit, Mr Péter Hetei expressed his support to the Management of Sarajevo International Airport in their efforts to further improve business and wished them luck in the future.
